ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Soccer team fell to Alderson Broaddus 0-2 Saturday night to close out the first half of the G-MAC season.
 
The Senators (5-2-2, 4-1-1 G-MAC) fell behind early as the Battlers (4-4-2, 4-2-0 G-MAC) found the scoresheet in the 16th minute. Kris Robins took a pass from Ashley Sibisi and was able to beat Hedi Mehnaoui for the early lead.
 
The teams played fairly even the rest of the way through the first half, with each team putting just one more shot on target. Alderson Broaddus took several shots, but were unable to keep them close to goal, with the majority coming from long-range.
 
The two teams came back out in the second half with similar approaches, but were unable to test the keepers early.
 
Alderson Broaddus eventually doubled their lead in the 79th minute when Michael Gallardo hit a hard shot past Mehnaoui.
 
The Senators will return to action on Thursday with the first of two straight on the road at Cedarville. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
