Kylie Heyne

Kylie Heyne is in her fifth season as the Head Volleyball Coach in 2019-20, after being named to the position in July of 2015. Heyne has led the program to three Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament appearances.

Heyne has coached four All-Conference honorees in her four seasons. Overall she has guided three first team All-Conference recipients, including two-time award winner Sasha Johnson.

Heyne guided D&E to one of the most successful seasons in school history in 2016, leading the Senators to another 15-win campaign and a G-MAC Black Division Championship and a spot in the G-MAC Championship game, before falling in a 5-set thriller.

In her first season with the program, she coached the Senators to their fourth best season in school history and best mark since 2009, going 15-16 overall and 6-4 in conference play. D&E finished second in the Black Division and earned a place in the G-MAC Conference Tournament after missing the postseason in 2014. Middle blocker Charisse Mitchell earned G-MAC All-Freshman honors under Heyne's guidance.

Prior to D&E, Heyne spent two years as the Recreational Program Director at the YMCA in Ashland, Oregon. During the fall of 2014, she coached the Ashland High School volleyball team and then the Siskiyou Volleyball Club.

After earning her Master’s degree, Heyne spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the California (Pa.) volleyball team.

As a player, Heyne was one of three All-Americans in the 21-year history of Frostburg State’s volleyball program.  She was a four-time all-conference selection, and graduated as FSU’s all-time leader in assists with 4,556. She accounted for the fourth, fifth and sixth best single-season assist performances in program history.

In Heyne's four seasons at Frostburg, the Bobcats won three conference tournament titles, two regular season titles and had three NCAA Tournament appearances—including a trip to the Sweet 16 during her junior season.

Heyne earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Frostburg State University and received a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from California University of Pennsylvania.

Kylie and her husband Mason, who serves D&E as the Head Baseball Coach, reside in Elkins with their daughter Delaney.
