J.R. Dodson joins the Davis & Elkins women's soccer program for his first season in 2021. He arrives in Elkins following a six-year stint as the head coach of the Lewis County High School girls' soccer program.
Dodson turned the Lewis County soccer program into one of the region's best, taking a program that had not won a postseason content prior to his arrival to three sectional tournament wins, a regional championship and state semifinal appearance.
Dodson, named the Regional Coach of the Year in his final season with Lewis County, guided three all-state selections and the Regional Player of the Year. Lewis County posted 11 consecutive victories before a loss in the regional final capped one of the top years in program history for Dodson.
A staple in the youth soccer scene in Lewis County, Dodson was a driving force in the construction of the "Soccer Barn," an indoor facility used by various teams and groups around the region to train and continue developing skills during the winter months.
