Sean Gallagher is in his first year as an Assistant Coach with the Davis & Elkins College Baseball program under head coach Mason Heyne.
Gallagher comes to D&E after previously serving as the Head Coach at St. Mary’s High School in Medford, Oregon, where he led the team to 106 wins and 37 losses from 2012-17.
Gallagher led the team to the Oregon State Championship in 2017, finishing 26-4, with a team ERA of 1.28 and a team batting average of .357. His squad also had 173 stolen bases and 16 home runs.
In 2016, Gallagher led the team to the state semi-finals, where the team posted an ERA of 1.10, .385 batting average and 207 stolen bases. In 2015, Gallagher led St. Mary’s to the state quarterfinals.
Gallagher was also named Coach of the Year for the Southern Cascade League in 2013, 2015, and 2017, and also was nominated for the Coach of the East-West All Star Game in 2016 and 17.
Prior to his head coaching stint in Oregon, Gallagher was a Boyle Baseball Instructor for the Western Region.
Gallagher first began his college career with Hardin Simmons University, before transferring to New Mexico State University, where he was a catcher. After graduation, Gallagher worked as Associate Scout’s Assistant for the Milwaukee Brewers, where he oversaw the region of Southern Florida.
