Mason Heyne enters his fifth year as the head coach of Davis & Elkins College baseball in 2020, after taking over the program just before the start of the 2016 season.
In the last four seasons, Heyne has started to turn around a program that had struggled, guiding the Senators to 41 wins.
Under his tutelage, Heyne saw newcomers Johnny Liu and Derek Sicca earn All-Freshman and All-Conference honors, respectively, in 2017. In 2018, he guided four Senators, including three more newcomers to all-conference honors.
Heyne led the Senators program to a G-MAC Conference Tournament appearance in his first season as the Senators finished 13-35. Both were key improvements after taking over a program that went 7-35 in 2015.
Seniors Lance VanNoy and Travis Phelps earned G-MAC All-Conference First Team honors in Heyne's first season. Bragg Eastin and Robbie McKinney also received recognition, being named to the G-MAC All-Freshman team.
Heyne was a key four-year player for Rider University under head coach Barry Davis. Heyne helped lead the Broncs to four consecutive winning seasons, hitting .309 in 209 career games for the Division I program.

In his four-year career, Heyne tallied 247 career hits (fourth in school history), 67 doubles, four triples and 24 home runs. Heyne currently holds the Rider University career record for RBI with 186 and he also holds the career record for doubles with 67.
