Kramer Sneed

Kramer Sneed was named to the position of Assistant Baseball Coach in January 2019.

Sneed comes to Elkins from Barton College, where he spent the Fall of 2018 as a Volunteer Assistant Coach. Previously, Sneed spent eight years in professional baseball. Following a three-year career at Barton, where he was named First Team All-Conference Carolinas and Academic All-Conference as a pitcher, Sneed was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 32nd round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft.

During his time in the Yankees organization, Sneed pitched for the GCL Yankees, Staten Island Yankees, Charleston Riverdogs and Tampa Yankees. After being traded to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the Spring of 2013, Sneed was named a California League All-Star with the Inland Empire 66ers, who won the 2013 California League Championship. Sneed finished his career with stints on the Double A Arkansas Travelers, and St. Paul Saints, where he tied the single season wins record, winning 15 games in 2015. He ended his professional career pitching over 860 innings and recording over 650 strikeouts.

Sneed earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Purdue University Global in Summer 2018 in Liberal Studies.
