Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Davis & Elkins fell to Walsh, 20-9, in a G-MAC men's lacrosse matchup Saturday afternoon at Walsh University.
The Senators drop to 1-9 overall and 0-5 in conference play, while the Cavaliers improve to 5-7 overall and 4-2 in the G-MAC.
Walsh controlled the early momentum, scoring six goals in the opening quarter and adding seven more in the second to take a 13-1 lead into halftime.
Davis & Elkins showed offensive life in the third quarter, scoring five times in the period. Devon Garcia and Karsen Kronen each recorded goals during the run, while Xzavier Jankowiak and Nolan Harris also found the back of the net to help the Senators cut into the deficit.
Garcia and Kronen led the Senators offensively with three goals each. Jankowiak, Harris and JayC Morlog added one goal apiece, while Jordan Delorme recorded the team's lone assist.
Walsh was led by Parker Stanway, who scored six goals and added three assists. Toby Olynyk finished with five goals and nine assists to pace the Cavaliers' offense.
The Cavaliers held advantages in shots (66-23), ground balls (46-22) and faceoffs (27-6).
Avery Linthicum made 10 saves in 41:50 in goal for the Senators before Jacob Orr entered and recorded three saves over the final 18:10.
Davis & Elkins continues conference play on Saturday, April 4, when the Senators travel to Thomas More. Faceoff is scheduled for noon in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
