Box Score GREENSBURG, Pa. — The Davis & Elkins men's lacrosse team fell to Seton Hill, 27-2, in a G-MAC matchup Tuesday afternoon at DSG Field.
Seton Hill controlled the game early, scoring nine goals in the opening quarter and adding 11 more in the second to take a 20-0 lead into halftime.
The Griffins outshot Davis & Elkins 75-17 and held advantages in ground balls (49-23) and faceoffs (25-7) in the contest.
Davis & Elkins broke through in the third quarter when Devon Garcia found the back of the net off an assist from James Besten at the 12:59 mark to make the score 20-1. The Senators added their second goal in the fourth quarter when Karsen Kronen scored unassisted with 10:21 remaining.
Kronen led the Senators with five shots, including two on goal, while Garcia finished with two shots and one goal. Besten recorded the team's lone assist.
Defensively, Nolan Harris collected four ground balls while Kade Melton won five faceoffs and added two ground balls. Carter Simms and Hunter Bradshaw each finished with two ground balls and a caused turnover.
Goalkeeper Jacob Orr played all 60 minutes for the Senators, recording 15 saves while facing 42 shots on goal.
Seton Hill was led offensively by Tiernan Lynch with four goals and three assists, while Carter Li added three goals and two assists and Landon Danes recorded two goals and six assists.
Davis & Elkins will return to action Saturday, March 28, when the Senators travel to North Canton, Ohio, to face Walsh in a G-MAC matchup. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
