JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Davis & Elkins men's golf team finished 15th at the Sunnehanna Collegiate hosted by the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown on Monday and Tuesday at Sunnehanna Country Club.
The Senators posted a three-round team score of +43, tying with Pitt-Johnstown's B squad in a competitive 17-team field. Gannon won the event, while Pitt-Johnstown placed second and IUP, West Chester, and Wheeling shared third.
Sophomore Hugo Mayorga paced the Senators with rounds of 69, 72, and 75. Junior Lucio Pavicich joined him inside the top 25 after firing rounds of 66, 74, and 76.
Junior Isaac Gregson turned in rounds of 74, 69, and 77 to place in the middle of the pack. Senior Leonardo Turra (77-76-78) and senior Samuel Rached (77-77-80) rounded out the lineup.
The Sunnehanna Collegiate featured several Mountain East Conference programs and Atlantic Region opponents, providing D&E a strong test ahead of the postseason.
Davis & Elkins returns to action Oct. 6-8 at the Mountain East Conference Championships at Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, West Virginia.
