ELKINS, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College women's basketball program has announced the hiring of Bria Brown as its new assistant coach ahead of the 2025–26 season.
Brown comes to Elkins from DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Fla., where she served as an assistant coach for the Girls Post-Grad, Girls High School National, and Regional teams. She was also the head coach of the junior varsity squad in her first year. At DME, Brown was instrumental in player development—particularly with guards—designing skill plans that elevated ball handling, shooting, and basketball IQ.
Head coach Donna Carr said Brown's addition will make an immediate impact on the program. "I'm super excited to get Bria and the energy she brings on staff with us this year," Carr said. "She has tremendous skill in training, film breakdown, and relationship building— all important components for the success of a program. She will be vital in recruiting and on-court support. Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of creativity… Bo Bennett."
Brown played collegiately at St. Thomas University (Fla.) from 2021 to 2024, where she earned a bachelor's degree in business management with a specialization in marketing. A two-year team captain, she was named Second Team All-Conference, Sun Conference Player of the Week, and was honored as the team MVP during the 2023–24 season.
Prior to St. Thomas, she competed at Oak Hills Christian College (Minn.) in 2020–21, earning Second Team All-Conference honors and being named NCCAA Player of the Week twice.
In addition to her on-court experience, Brown has developed and trained several elite prospects and has experience in academic monitoring, social media design, and event operations. A native of Tampa, Fla., she brings a well-rounded background in leadership, marketing, and coaching to the Senator staff.
