ELKINS, W.Va. – A highlight-reel catch from Davis & Elkins baseball's Mason Brenneman has been nominated for the 2024-25 Mountain East Conference Play of the Year, the league office announced this week.

Brenneman's play — which took place during a home matchup against West Virginia Wesleyan — saw the Senator infielder track a popup in foul territory and reach over the fence into the first base dugout to make the catch.

The nomination is one of 12 submitted across the conference and is part of the MEC's annual fan vote to determine the top play of the year. Voting is open now and will close on Tuesday, July 1 at 5 p.m. The winning play will be announced Thursday, July 3 at 11 a.m.
