ELKINS, W.Va. — Charlie Taylor scored four fourth-quarter goals, including the game-winner with 1:50 remaining, as Davis & Elkins stormed back to defeat Thomas More 13-12 in men's lacrosse Saturday afternoon at Nuttall Field.
The Senators (2-11, 1-4 G-MAC) trailed 11-9 heading into the final period but outscored the Saints 4-1 in the final 15 minutes to earn their first conference win of the season.
Taylor finished with a team-high four goals and one assist, all in the second half. Jordan Delorme added a hat trick and one assist, while Devon Garcia chipped in two goals and one helper.
Avery Linthicum anchored the D&E defense with 27 saves in goal. The Senators cleared 22-of-24 attempts successfully and held Thomas More to one goal in the fourth quarter.
Trailing 12-11 after a goal for the Saints with 2:21 left, D&E tied the game on Taylor's unassisted strike with 1:50 remaining. Just over 90 seconds later, Taylor buried his fourth goal off a feed from Delorme to seal the comeback.
JayC Morlog also scored for the Senators, converting a man-up opportunity in the third quarter, while Logan O'Donnell and Tanner Delorme each tallied once.
