TIFFIN, Ohio – Davis & Elkins College fell on the road Saturday afternoon, dropping a 15-5 decision to Tiffin University in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) men's lacrosse action at Paradiso Turf Field.
The Senators (1-9, 0-3 G-MAC) were held scoreless in the opening quarter and trailed 7-2 at halftime. Despite a pair of fourth-quarter goals, D&E couldn't slow the Dragons (2-5, 1-3 G-MAC), who used a balanced offensive attack and a 54-21 shot advantage to control the pace of play.
D&E saw five different players find the back of the net. Xzavier Jankowiak opened the scoring for the Senators early in the second quarter off an assist from Matthew Smith. Justin Kearney, Nate Duffy, Chuck Kretchman, and Jordan Delorme each added goals, while Tanner Delorme picked up an assist.
In goal, Avery Linthicum made 20 saves across 60 minutes of action.
Tiffin won 15 of 21 faceoffs and held a 36-19 edge in ground balls. The Dragons were also 27-of-29 on clears, while D&E went 27-of-28.
