LATROBE, Pa. – The Davis & Elkins College women's lacrosse team bounced back in their second game of the day, securing a commanding 19-3 victory over St. Vincent College after falling 17-0 to Young Harris in the opening game of their March 12 doubleheader.
In the early matchup against Young Harris, the Senators struggled to generate offensive opportunities, managing just 10 total shots, with eight on goal. Despite a strong showing in net from Megan Bauer, who made 17 saves on 34 shots on goal, the Senators were unable to find the back of the net. Young Harris controlled the draw, winning 13 draw controls, and capitalized on three power-play goals to pull away.
Shaking off the earlier loss, Davis & Elkins dominated their second contest against St. Vincent, erupting for 19 goals on 34 total shots. Ari Hinton led the charge with four goals and one assist, while Rylee Anderson and Hannah Lennon each contributed hat tricks. Morgan Rogers chipped in with three points, scoring once and adding two assists.
D&E established control early, outscoring St. Vincent 5-0 in the first quarter and never looking back. The Senators' offensive depth was on full display, with 11 different players recording a goal. Defensively, the team forced 17 caused turnovers, limiting St. Vincent to just three total goals.
Between the pipes, Megan Bauer bounced back from the earlier loss with a stellar performance, stopping 10 of 13 shots on goal to help secure the win.
With the split, the Senators moved to 1-5 on the season. They will look to build on their offensive momentum in their next matchup on Friday night (March 14), at the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, D.C.
