FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Davis & Elkins College men's lacrosse team fell to Emmanuel University, 24-8, in a non-conference road matchup on Saturday afternoon.

The Senators (1-2) started strong, scoring three times in the first quarter, including a man-up goal from Xzavier Jankowiak off an assist from Charlie Taylor. Matthew Smith and Chuck Kretchman also found the back of the net in the opening frame, but Emmanuel (1-2) responded with five goals to take an early lead.

Despite a solid second quarter that saw Tanner Delorme and JayC Morlog add goals for D&E, the Lions continued their offensive surge, outscoring the Senators 7-2 in the period to take a 12-5 halftime lead.

D&E battled in the second half, with Smith scoring his second goal of the day in the third quarter and Jankowiak adding another in the fourth, but Emmanuel's offense proved too much to overcome. The Lions capitalized on extra-man opportunities, converting eight power-play goals throughout the contest.

The Senators recorded 37 total shots, 19 of which were on goal, and went 13-for-21 on clear attempts. Faceoff specialist Justin Kearney won nine draws, while goalie Avery Linthicum made 17 saves despite facing 57 shots.
