ELKINS, W.Va. (Feb. 12, 2025) — Davis & Elkins College suffered a hard-fought 76-69 loss to Glenville State in Mountain East Conference action Wednesday night at the McDonnell Center.
The Senators (9-15, 5-11 MEC) took a 39-35 lead into halftime, but Glenville State (14-10, 8-8 MEC) responded with a strong second half, outscoring D&E 41-30 to claim the victory. The Pioneers capitalized on second-chance opportunities and points off turnovers to swing the momentum.
Charleston Ponds paced Davis & Elkins with 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including three triples. Dontrell Jenkins added 13 points and three assists, while Ben Gilliam contributed 14 points and six rebounds. Emmanuel Oladeru led the team with nine boards.
The Pioneers shot 44.2% from the field and converted 20-of-25 free throws, while the Senators were held to just eight free-throw attempts. Glenville State also forced 19 turnovers, scoring 16 points off those miscues.
