BUFFALO, N.Y. – Davis & Elkins College men's lacrosse dropped its season opener to D'Youville University, falling 27-9 Saturday afternoon at Dobson Field.

The Senators (0-1) struggled to contain the Saints' offensive attack, which tallied 27 goals on 63 total shots. D'Youville (1-0) built an early lead, scoring seven goals in the first quarter and adding nine in the second to take a commanding 16-3 halftime advantage.

Davis & Elkins saw offensive production from redshirt senior Tanner Delorme, who recorded two goals and two assists, and sophomore JayC Morlog, who netted two goals with an assist. Jordan Delorme added two goals and an assist, while Charlie Taylor, Matthew Smith, and Chuck Kretchman each found the back of the net. Kretchman and Morlog also contributed assists in the effort.

Faceoff specialist Justin Kearney won nine draws and picked up 10 ground balls for the Senators. Freshman goalie Avery Linthicum made 21 saves despite facing relentless pressure from the Saints.
