Charleston, W.Va. -- The Senators fell in a closely contested game against the University of Charleston 14-9.
Jessica Dwyer led the Senators offense with two goals and two assists in the game.
The Golden Eagles would jump out early in the first period and took a 3-1 lead into the second period. The Senators would score the first two goals of the second period to tie the game at 3-3 but the Goldan Eagles would hold a 7-5 lead going into halftime.
The third period would come out of halftime and score three of the first four goals to take a 8-7 lead but the Golden Eagles would bounce back and take a 10-9 lead into the fourth. The Golden Eagles cranked up the defense in the fourth period and didn't allow a Senators goal while their offense scored four goals.
Morgan Rogers and
Izzie Sevila each scored two goals while
Zoe Mackey picked up six groundballs and caused three turnovers.
