Glenville, W.Va. -- The Senators split the doubleheader on Sunday against Glenville State falling in game one 6-0 and then taking game two 7-3.
Jules Gutierrez led the Senators offense going 3-7 on the day with a homerun, 2 runs scored and a RBI.
Game 1 vs Glenville State 6-0 Loss
In game one the Senators were never able to get the offense going as the Pioneers held them to only two hits in the game. The Pioneers would jump out to a 4-0 lead after the second inning. The Pioneers would a run in both the fifth and sixth innings.
Ashlyn Zapach and
Trinity Fleming collected the two hits for the Senators.
Game 2 vs Glenville State 7-3 Win
The Senators offense would find their stride early in game two and cruise to victory. They would take a 1-0 after one inning by scoring an unearned run.
In the second inning the Senators would score 5 runs to take a 6-0 lead.
Jules Gutierrez got the scoring started with a solo homerun.
Lilly Saucedo collected a RBI single,
Ashlyn Zapach and
Trinity Fleming each walked with the bases loaded and the Senators added an unearned run on an error.
The Senators would finish their scoring with
Trinity Cossette drove in a run with sacrifice fly.
Gweny Wessling, Saucedo and Cossette each collect 2 hits in the game.
Sammie Jarvis picked up her 9th win of the season throwing 7 innings while only allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs and struck out 8 Pioneer hitters.
