Washington, Pa. -- Davis & Elkins fell in a non-conference matchup against California University of PA by a score of 8-1. The game was much closer than the final score would tell as the teams were locked in a pitchers dual into the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Senators would get on the board first in the top of the second inning to take a 1-0 lead.
Logan Bradish would lead off the inning with one of his two doubles on the day and
Tanner Cook would immediately drive him in with an RBI single.
The Senators used a pitching-by-committee strategy in the game with 9 different pitchers getting into the game. The strategy paid off early as they held the Vulcans hitless for the first 4 1/3 innings. The Vulcans would push across two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 2-1 lead going into the seventh inning.
The Vulcans' offense would come alive in the bottom of the seventh inning collecting 4 of their 8 hits in the game and scored 6 runs with two outs to put the game away.
Logan Bradish led the way for the Senators at the plate going 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a run scored.
