Tucson, Ariz. -- Davis & Elkins erased a 4-2 deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning against San Francisco State University to earn a walk-off victory in game two of the Cactus Classic in Tucson, AZ.
Game 1 vs University of Nebraska Kearney 4-1 Loss
The Senators took the lead in game one in the top of the first inning when they successfully executed a double steal.
Alyssa Haynes ttook second base while
Sharon Morales stole home for the second time this season to put the Senators up 1-0. Unfortunately, the Senators wouldn't be able to get the offense going the rest of the game. Nebraska Kearney would score two runs in the third inning and the fifth inning to down Davis & Elkins 4-1.
Haynes would go 1-2 with 3 stolen bases while Morales had 2 stolen bases and a run scored.
Game 2 vs San Francisco State University 5-4 Win
Davis & Elkins came back to win 5-4 in dramatic fashion against San Francisco State.
Trinity Fleming singled home
Jules Gutierrez with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning for a walk-off victory.
The Senators would get on the board first in the second inning when
Trinity Cossette singled home
Sammie Jarvis to take a 1-0 lead.Trailing 3-1 in the sixth inning,
Gweny Wessling drove in
Lilly Saucedo with a sac fly cut the lead to one going into the seventh inning.
The Gators would add another run in the top of the seventh to take a 4-2 lead.
Alyssa Haynes would get things started for the Senators with a one out single to left center field. Haynes would advance to second on a wild pitch before scoring on a
Linzey Allard single through the left side. Gutierrez would walk after a pitching change advancing Allard to second base. Saucedo would tie the score at 4-4 with a single through the left side that scored Allard and advanced Gutierrez to second base to set the stage for Fleming. With a 1-1 count, Fleming would drive a single to center field scoring Gutierrez.
Saucedo would end the night going 3-4.
Sharon Morales would add 2 more stolen bases to increase her season total to 10 in 6 games.
Sammie Jarvis picked up the win in relief for her third win of the season.
