West Liberty, W.Va. -- Despite shooting 28-52 (53.8%) from the field, the Davis & Elkins fell to West Liberty 95-75. The Hilltoppers were able to force 22 turnovers and attempted 18 more shots than the Senators which ended up being the difference in the game.
The first half saw a back and forth game with the largest lead coming at the end of the half when the Hilltoppers went into the break with a 38-29 advantage. The score was tied 25-25 with 4:34 remaining before West Liberty ended the half on a 13-4 run.
The second half saw both teams shoot the ball well from the field with the Senators going 17-26 (65.38%) from the field and the Hilltoppers going 20-35 (57.14%). The hot shooting by the Senators wasn't enough as the Hilltoppers never let them get closer than 11 points in the second half.
Nicolas Silva put together another balanced game by scoring 16 points and pulling down 5 rebounds.
Sam Rolle IV added 16 points while
Clarens Pierre had a strong offensive night with 14 points.
Dontrell Jenkins scored 6 points while dishing out 6 assists and pulling down 4 rebounds.
