Elkins, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins and Wheeling had a back and forth battle that saw the game tied eight times and included eleven lead changes with the Cardinals coming out on top 85-82.
Sam Rolle IV led the way for the Senators with 22 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds.
The Senators would started off the game well building a 20-12 lead with just over 10:00 left to play in the half. However, the Cardinals would finish the half strong and take a 37-33 lead into halftime. Neither team shot the ball very well in the first half with the Senators going 12-34 (35.29%) from the field and the Cardinals shooting 11-29 (37.93%).
The second half saw both offenses shoot the ball much better and the pace of play picked up. Wheeling would take their largest lead of the game with 1:12 remaining in the game by a score of 79-71. The Senators would outscore the Cardinals 11-6 over the remaining time but a last second shot from half court to send the game to overtime wouldn't fall.
Vadim Clanet would add 20 points and 6 rebounds.
Tristan Starks scored 15 points and pulled down 8 rebounds.
Clarens Pierre led the way on the glass with 11 rebounds while adding 8 points and 2 blocks.
