Glenville, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins used a big second half comeback to pull out a victory over Glenville State on the road by a score of 84-79.
Charleston Ponds had an efficient game for the Senators scoring 19 points and pulling down 8 rebounds.
The first half saw both teams make a couple of runs during a back-and-forth half. Glenville State would have a 7-0 run to go up 21-13 but Davis & Elkins would immediately answer with a 13-2 run to take the lead 26-23. The Pioneers would outscore the Senators 19-10 over the final 8:00 of the half to take a 42-36 lead into halftime.
The Pioneers would come out of halftime and build a lead by as many as 16 points in the second half. The Pioneers held a 74-63 lead with just under 5:00 to play before the Senators mounted their comeback. The Senators would go on a quick 8-0 run over the next minute to cut the lead to 74-71. After the Pioneers made a 3-point basket with 2:09 remaining to make the score 79-73 in favor of the Pioneers, the Senators would end the game on a 11-0 run to pull out the win on the road.
Sam Rolle IV scored 20 points to lead the Senators and also collected 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.
Vadim Clanet scored 14 points while pulling down 7 rebounds.
Clarens Pierre added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals.
