INSTITUTE, W. Va. -- Davis & Elkins College opened their 2024-25 men's basketball season with a 69-61 non-conference victory over Johnson C. Smith at the Walker Convocation Center on Friday night, marking the first career win for first-year Head Coach Daniel Harris.
Sam Rolle IV led the Senators with 16 points, including three 3-pointers, and added five assists in 23 minutes. Nnadozie Okoroji contributed 12 points, hitting four of seven from beyond the arc, while Nicolas Silva posted a near double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds, adding a block. Dontrell Jenkins also had a solid performance with eight points, including two 3-pointers, and led the team with six rebounds.
The Senators' bench was instrumental, outscoring Johnson C. Smith 44-14, while their defense forced 17 turnovers, with nine steals and four blocks to secure the victory.
