ELKINS, W.Va. — Davis & Elkins honored senior guard Sam Rolle IV before their Saturday evening matchup against Seton Hill for his 2,000th career point, achieved on Nov. 13 against Gannon University. Despite the celebration, the Senators couldn't secure a victory, falling 68-61 at the McDonnell Center.

Rolle, playing in front of a home crowd of 200, contributed three points, four rebounds, and five assists in 32 minutes. The Senators (1-4) were led offensively by Nicolas Silva, who posted a game-high 21 points on 9-for-20 shooting, along with nine rebounds. Junior Nnadozie Okoroji added 12 points and five rebounds, while senior Charleston Ponds scored 10 points, including two three-pointers.

The Mountain Cats out-rebounded the Senators 38-36 and capitalized on 10 steals, leading to 12 points off turnovers.

The game remained competitive through the first half, with Seton Hill holding a slim 29-20 lead at the break. Davis & Elkins mounted a second-half push, scoring 41 points, but the Mountain Cats' defensive pressure and timely three-point shooting sealed the win.

The Senators will look to bounce back in their next contest as they prepare for Mountain East Conference play.
