Box Score ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — Davis & Elkins men's basketball earned a strong road win Saturday night, defeating Elizabeth City State 83–68 in a nonconference matchup at the R.L. Vaughan Center.
The Senators (2–2) put together one of their most efficient offensive performances of the season, shooting 59.5 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from three while controlling the second half.
Matthew Gray led D&E with 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting, adding seven made free throws. He scored 11 points after halftime and provided several key moments that helped the Senators pull away.
Noah Adamczyk added 17 points, knocking down a pair of threes and going 7-of-13 from the floor. Vegas Evans delivered a near double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds, while also providing defensive energy with a block and steal.
Nnadozie Okoroji added nine points and three rebounds in 35 minutes, and Tristan Starks contributed six points, including a late three that helped halt an ECSU push. The Senators finished with 10 assists on 28 made field goals and won the rebounding battle 27–22.
D&E held a 42–39 lead at halftime and outscored the Vikings 41–29 in the second half. The Senators shot 64 percent after the break while holding ECSU to 37 percent from the field.
Jaquantae Harris led Elizabeth City State (0–2) with 18 points.
