Volleyball Secures 3-1 Victory Over West Virginia Wesleyan

ELKINS, W. Va. — Davis & Elkins College volleyball (5-9, 2-5 MEC) triumphed over West Virginia Wesleyan (12-7, 2-4 MEC) in four sets on Tuesday evening at the McDonnell Center, winning 3-1 (25-20, 16-25, 25-21, 25-18).

The Senators started strong by taking the first set 25-20, thanks to solid defensive play and effective blocking, accumulating 10 total blocks throughout the match. After dropping the second set 16-25, they regained momentum to win the next two sets, closing out the match 3-1.

Reanne Debose led Davis & Elkins with 13 kills and added eight digs, while Gracjana Rozanska contributed eight kills and six total blocks. Setter Haylie Marumoto dished out 29 assists and added 11 digs. The Senators' defense was key, tallying 51 digs as a team and frustrating the Bobcats' attack, holding them to a .064 hitting percentage for the match.

West Virginia Wesleyan struggled with 37 attack errors, allowing D&E to take full advantage of the Bobcats' mistakes, capitalizing on their aggressive blocking and strong defensive efforts.
