Slippery Rock, PA -- A strong start to game wasn't enough for Davis & Elkins as they fell on the road to Slippery Rock by a score of 78-76.
After Slippery Rock jumped out to a 12-7 lead, the Senators responded by going on a 23-4 run that was capped by a three-point basket by Tristan Sparks with 5:40 left in the first half. Davis & Elkins would go into the half with a 37-33 lead.
Slippery Rock would come out of the locker room with a strong start to the second half by going on an early 14-3 run to take the lead 47-40. Slippery Rock would keep the lead the rest of the second half until
Vadim Clanet completed a three-point play with 1:48 remaining to tie the game at 76-76.
With a 78-76 lead with :05 remaining, Slippery Rock would miss two free throws to give the Senators a chance to send the game to overtime but a drive by
Sam Rolle IV was blocked to end the game.
Sam Rolle IV led the way for the Senators by scoring 23 points on 10-19 shooting while adding 4 assists and 3 steals.
Tristan Sparks (14 points),
Vadim Clanet (12 points) and
Charleston Ponds (11 points) all scored in double-digits and Ponds added 8 rebounds.
