Elkins, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins gave the MEC leading University of Charleston everything they wanted in a 73-71 defeat at home. In the loss. Sam Rolle IV became the first Senator to achieve 500 career assists when he hit a driving Tristan Starks for a layup with :07 left in the game.

The Senators controlled the first half with a strong defensive effort holding the Golden Eagles to 8-25 (32%) shooting from the field, including 0-9 from the three-point line. The Senators shot the ball well from behind the arc going 6-15 in the first half to take a 32-26 lead into the half.

Charleston was able to figure out the Davis & Elkins defense in the second half by shooting 15-26 (57.69%) from the field and also went 14-15 from the free-throw line. The Senators also shot the ball well in the second half going 14-29 (48.28%) from the field and 6-14 (42.68%) from the three-point line.

Starks would lead the scoring for the Senators with 18 points.

Rolle IV would score 11 points and add 5 assists.

Vadim Clanet and Nicolas Silva would score in double digits with 11 points and 10 points respectively.

Clarens Pierre scored 7 points while pulling down 10 rebounds and adding 2 blocks.
