ELKINS, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins and Glenville State battled to a 1-1 draw in Mountain East Conference women's soccer action Wednesday evening at Nuttall Field on the campus of Davis & Elkins College.

In a back-and-forth contest, the Senators kept it close throughout. Glenville State outshot D&E 11-5 in the first half and took a 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal by Aitana Viejo in the sixteenth minute.

Facing seven shots on goal in the first half, goalkeeper Gabriela Acevedo turned away six shots to hold the Senators within striking distance.

D&E managed five shots in the first half, but none on goal. Glenville also held the advantage in corner kicks in the first half 7-1.

The second half was much more balanced. The two teams were even in shots at five apiece. D&E held the advantage in corner kicks (1-0) and shots on goal (4-3).
D&E also balanced the scoresheet in the second half when Jimena Guerrero scored in the forty-eighth minute.

Acevedo faced ten shots and had nine saves in the contest.
