BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- Davis and Elkins moved its home softball doubleheader with Alderson Broaddus to West Virginia Wesleyan Sunday evening. D&E still served as the host institution in the contests and appeared to have the home field advantage as they swept the Battlers 7-4 and 8-0.

GAME ONE
Alderson Broaddus struck first when they scored in the top of the second inning and then D&E answered in the bottom of the inning when
Sharon Morales singled and
Alyssa Haynes scored.
Â
The Battlers scored once again in the fourth to go up 2-1, but D&E answered once again in the bottom of the inning.
Anjolina Gutierrez added a two RBI double to right field that score Morales and Haynes and the Senators went up 3-2.

In the fifth inning, D&E poured on four more runs when
Honesty Holt smacked a grand slam that scored
Maddie Lavelle,
Jules Gutierrez, and
Linzey Allard.
Â
AB scored a pair of runs in the sixth to close the gap a little, but D&E held on for the 7-4 victory.
Â
Anjolina Gutierrez had three hits in four at bats and two RBIs. Haynes and Morales both went two for three at the plate.
Â
Saylor Kneeland went the distance for D&E, scattering eleven hits, striking out one, and earning four runs in seven innings pitch in the win.

GAME TWO
It was all D&E in the second game of the doubleheader as the Battlers managed just four hits and no runs.

In the second inning,
Kailynn Parks put D&E up 3-0 when she homered, scoring Haynes and Holt.
Â
Parks tripled in the fourth inning, scoring
Zenevieve Coronado-Casebolt. Morales later brought Parks home on a single. Allard completed the five-run inning by singling and bringing home
Anjolina Gutierrez and Morales and put the game away at 8-0.

Parks went two for two at the plate with five RBIs. Morales also had two hits in two at bats.

Vanessa Hunt picked up the win for the Senators as she allowed just four hits and struck out four.
