GREENSBURG, Pa. -- Davis & Elkins dropped an out-of-conference men's basketball contest on the road Monday night at the hands of Seton Hill University, 78-74.
In a fairly balance game, the two teams were consistent in nearly every statistical category. Seton Hill was 3.2% better shooting the ball, had two more points in the paint, and one more point off of turnovers than D&E. Â
The scoring per half was also identical. The Griffons held a 39-37 lead at halftime and then score 39 to D&E's 37 in the second half as well.
Seton Hill's largest lead in the game was 8. D&E's was 5. Both came in the first half.
The Senators were led by Claren's Pierre's 16 points on 8 of 12 shooting. Pierre also had 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals.
Tristan Starks had a double-double, with 14 points and 10 rebounds. All his points came from beyond the arc and at the free throw line. He was 4 of 9 from three-point range and 2 for 2 at the line.
Nicolas Silva added 13 points, 6 rebounds, and a block.
Sam Rolle IV chipped in 9 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds.
Malachi Hampton and
Dontrell Jenkins each added 7 points.
Vadim Clanet added 6 points and 4 rebounds.
D&E falls to 4-2 overall, but remains unbeaten at 2-0 in the Mountain East Conference.
Seton Hill moves to 3-1. Their lone loss came at the hands of the #2 team in Division II, West Liberty.
