WHEELING, W.Va. -- The Davis & Elkins men's basketball team bounced back from a Monday evening setback at Seton Hill to win in convincing fashion on the road against Wheeling University to remain undefeated in the Mountain East Conference.
The Senators spread the scoring out and held Wheeling to it lowest offensive output of the season on their way to an 81-60 victory.
A relatively tight first half that saw four lead changes and a four-point D&E lead (32-28) at halftime gave way to the Senators' offense opening up in the second half to run away from the Cardinals.
Same Rolle IV led D&E with 16 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
Dontrell Jenkins added 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Clarens Pierre had 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Tristan Starks and
Vadim Clanet each contributed 9 points. Starks was 6 of 6 from the free throw line. Clanet added 5 rebounds, a block, and a steal.
Charleston Ponds had 8 points and 8 rebounds, while
Ben Gilliam added 8 points and 7 rebounds.
D&E moves to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the MEC.
