ELKINS, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins and Frostburg State battled through a scoreless first half of play and another seventeen minutes of the second half before the only goal of the game was scored in a 1-0 D&E victory at Nuttall Field.
Frostburg State was unable to put together much on the offensive end of the field as they were unable to register a shot throughout the contest.
D&E on the other hand, put pressure on the Frostburg defense; particularly in the first half. The Senators outshot the Bobcats 15-0 with twelve of the fifteen shots coming in the first half.
Five of the Senators' shots were on goal and Frostburg keeper, Parker Shugars kept four of five from finding the net.
D&E keeper, Beltran Fernandez went untested in the match as he did not face a shot.
Manuel Castrejon was the game's lone scorer in the contest. The game-winner was assisted by Daniel Cerezo.
Cerezo also had a shot on goal. Joining Castrejon and Cerezo with shots on goal were Martin Lago, Haruki Yamazaki, and Dominique Castano.
D&E remains undefeated and leading the Mountain East Conference at 7-0, while Frostburg falls to 2-5-2 overall and 1-5-2 in the MEC.
The Senators play next on Wednesday, September 28 at 7pm at home against Wheeling University.
