David Pomeroy's D&E women's lacrosse team picked up where they left off Wednesday night. The Senators scored seven first period goals in route to a 20-4 win over Ursuline Friday evening at Nuttall Field.
Ari Hinton opened up the scoring at the 13:37 mark of the first period. Her teammates would add six more goals in the period to take a 7-2 lead into the second frame. Davis & Elkins outscored the Arrows 4-2 in the second period to make it 11-4 at the break. The Senator defense would not allow a goal in the second half, while their offense would find the back of the net nine times.
Hinton led D&E with seven goals and one assist.
Emily Smith had five goals, two assists, and picked up a team high six ground balls.
Haley Leavines added five goals and one assist followed by
Griselle Rosado two goals.
Sarah Zapata caused three turnovers, picked up three ground balls, and scored a goal.
Marissa Cuevas was spectacular in goal recording 20 saves and picking up five ground balls.
The Senators improve to 2-3.
Ursuline drops to 0-3.
Davis & Elkins hits the road Sunday, traveling to Latrobe, Pennsylvania to take on Saint Vincent College. Opening draw control is scheduled for 3:00pm.
