ELKINS, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College men's basketball team hosted Glenville State Wednesday night in a Mountain East Conference contest.  The game was close throughout with GSC edging out the Senators 78-72.

D&E opened the contest on a 12-3 run and forced the Pioneers to call a timeout.  Out of the timeout Glenville responded with a run of their own to take 13-12 lead with 11:37 remaining in the first half.  The two teams would battle back and forth the rest of the half with the Senators leading 35-33 at the break.  With 2:12 remaining in the game Glenville's Adrian Scarborough would come away with back-to-back steals that led to a dunk and lay-up and put the Pioneers up 73-69.  GSC would knock down five free throws the rest of the way to secure the win.

Davis & Elkins was led by Breland Walton.  Walton secured a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds.  Sam Rolle IV finished the game with 23 points and seven assists.  Ben Gilliam chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds.  Tylan Hutchison had six points and six rebounds followed by Cortney Walton five points and seven rebounds.

John Williams Jr. the MEC leading scorer led the way for the Pioneers with 29 points.  Tommy Williams had 16 followed by Scarborough 15.  Scarborough led the team in rebounds with 11.

With the loss D&E falls to 6-19 overall and 4-15 in the MEC.

Glenville State improves to 10-13 overall and 7-12 in the league.

The Senators travel to Concord this Saturday to take on the Mountain Lions.  Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00pm.
