FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Davis & Elkins men's basketball team fell 93-62 at #14 Fairmont State on Wednesday night in Mountain East Conference action. D&E played without two starters and had a cold night shooting going 21 for 64 (38.2%).
Fairmont went on a 19-1 run midway through the first half, and the short-handed Senators could not recover.
Davis & Elkins was led by
Charleston Ponds who had 19 points and six rebounds, followed by
Cortney Walton 16 points and five rebounds.
Sam Rolle IV had eight points and dished out five assists.
Fairmont had four players in double figures led by Briggs Parris's 27.
The Senators fall to 5-10 overall and 3-7 in the MEC.
Fairmont improves to 14-2 overall and 9-2 in league play.
D&E looks to rebound this Saturday afternoon as they host rival West Virginia Wesleyan at 4pm inside the McDonnell Center.
