ELKINS, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins men's basketball team played without Mountain East Conference leading rebounder
Breland Walton for most of the game Saturday, but that didn't stop the Senators as they defeated Concord University 80-65 in a MEC matchup inside the McDonnell Center.

Charleston Ponds three pointer with 10:56 to go in the first half gave the Senators a 18-16 lead, they would not trail the rest of the game. D&E led by as many as eight points in the first half and took a five point lead 40-35 into the locker room.
Davis & Elkins would open the second half on a 20-9 run to extend their lead to 60-44 with 12:20 remaining. Concord would cut the lead to 10 with 8:53 to play, but D&E would go on a 15-6 run to increase the lead to 19 and seal the win.
Sam Rolle IV led the way for the Senators with 23 points and six rebounds.
Charleston Ponds had 22 going a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line.
Cortney Walton scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Bryton Bissainthe had eight points and team highs in rebounds with seven and assists five.
Concord was led by Lual Rahama with 17 points and seven rebounds.
Davis & Elkins improves to 5-9 overall, and 3-6 in the MEC. Concord drops to 6-9 and 4-6 in league play.
D&E travels to Salem on Monday, tip-off is scheduled for 6:00pm on Mike Carey Court.
