ELKINS, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins softball won both ends of a home doubleheader against Alderson Broaddus on Saturday, posting a 13-5 and 2-1 home triumph on Saturday afternoon at Joni Smith Field.
D&E (6-4) racked up several home runs, including two from

Jenna Evans combining for the 2-1 win in the circle.
Honesty Holt belted the first pitch of the at-bat down the right field line, scoring
Kailynn Parks for the walk-off victory.
Evans also picked up the win in game one, which was tied at five before D&E rattled off the next eight runs. Grindstaff and Lavelle had three knocks each in game one, while
Kristen Malloy,
Lilly Saucedo and Grindstaff picked up multiple hits in game two.

After AB struck first, the Senators posted their first runs of the day off a Grindstaff homer to center in the second for a 2-1 edge. Malloy added the second homer of the day for D&E in the third for a 3-2 lead before D&E took advantage of some AB miscues for the 5-2 lead.
The Battlers responded in the fourth inning, tying the game at five before D&E took over. Leading 8-5, Parks laced a single through the left side in the fifth before the big blow was delivered in the form of a three-run home run for Lavelle.
Grindstaff capped the game with her second home run of the afternoon in the sixth, a solo shot that pushed the D&E lead to 13-5 and finished the game.
Evans closed out the final two innings with her scoreless relief in the circle, allowing just two hits while striking out five to earn the victory. Lavelle had five RBI in the opening game and Grindstaff drove in four more.
Game Two - Davis & Elkins 2, Alderson Broaddus 1
Evans tossed the final four innings to nab her second win on the day in the circle for D&E. Both sides pushed across a single run in the first, but the pitching clamped down for both sides.
Grindstaff plated Malloy with a bases loaded single in the first, tying the score at one. Evans allowed just two hits, fanning five in the last four innings of the day.
Parks got things going in the seventh with a one-out single to right before Lavelle barrelled a single of her own two batters later. Holt wasted little time, smacking the game-winning single to right as Parks raced home from second for the 2-1 win.
