Tyler Kolodka set a new program mark for goals in a game with 12 as part of an 18-15 road win at Alderson Broaddus on Friday afternoon.
Kolodka rifled home 12 goals, tied the single-season mark for goals with 30 and set a new single-season record in points (42) as part of a revenge victory against AB. Davis & Elkins (3-4) jumped ahead to a 8-3 lead after the first quarter, taking a 13-9 edge into the intermission.
Nolan Morrison ripped home four goals and added three assist for the Senators.
Sean Adams had another spectacular day across the board, picking up 15 ground balls, causing three turnovers and going 20-32 at the faceoff dot.
David Thorne Jr. made 16 stops in goal for the Senators, who were outshot 48-37.
D&E used a six-goal run as the first quarter concluded in response to the Battlers. Kolodka keyed a five-goal run with four consecutive to end the second for the 13-9 edge before Morrison opened the second half with a goal, an unassisted man-up tally, for the 14-9 advantage.
AB battled back to within one at 16-15, capping a run of four straight at 4:23. Kolodka delivered the final two goals to widen the margin and preserve the victory.
