ERIE, Pa. -- Davis & Elkins men's lacrosse could not muster a goal in the first half as part of a 30-2 shellacking at the hands of third-ranked Mercyhurst on Wednesday in Erie.
Davis & Elkins (1-4) found itself on the wrong end of a 19-0 count at the intermission before
Tyler Kolodka broke scoreless drought with 13:30 left in the third.
Mercyhurst (8-1) put its talent on full display, racking up 30 goals on a gaudy 64 shots.
Nolan Morrison scored the other tally for D&E in the team's third consecutive loss.
Wednesday marked the second time this season the Senators were facing the third-ranked team in the country, previously opening the year against the number three Seton Hill in March.
Davis & Elkins looks to bounce back at home on Saturday (April 17), welcoming Wheeling for a 5:00 PM clash at Nuttall Field.
