NORTH CANTON, Ohio – Playing for the first time in over two weeks, Davis & Elkins men's lacrosse dropped a 29-6 conference matchup with Walsh on Wednesday.
Tyler Kolodka paced D&E (1-2) with a pair of goals on five shots, while four other players had single markers for the Senators.
David Thorne Jr. made six saves on the afternoon as Walsh (2-4) fired 56 shots.
Walsh held possession for much of the early going, racing out to a 7-0 lead before forcing Davis & Elkins to call a timeout. The Cavaliers pushed the lead to 9-0 and held a 17-1 edge in shots as they continued the onslaught to end the opening quarter.
D&E finally broke through with a goal from Kolodka at 12:35 in the second period.
Sean Adams sliced through the middle to cut the deficit to 11-2 at 11:57 before Walsh answered back with two more tallies.
Kolodka fired home the final goal of the opening half as D&E trailed at the intermission. The Senators surrendered the first two goals of the second half before
Bryce McBee finished a transition chance.
Zach Lontayao added a goal with 3:35 remaining in the third, slicing the deficit to 19-6, before Walsh closed the game with a flurry for the 29-6 final.
Davis & Elkins is back in action on Wednesday, April 7 for a 7:00 PM home clash with Alderson Broaddus.
