ELKINS, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins softball combined for 20 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Glenville State on Friday afternoon in the home opener at Joni Smith Field.

GAME ONE
Davis & Elkins battled back for a 13-11 walk-off victory in the eighth inning, keyed by a two-run blast from
Lilly Saucedo to deep center field. Saucedo homered twice in the opening game for the Senators as
Maddie Lavelle added her first career home run.
Ava Willis earned the win in the circle during the high-scoring first game, helping the Senators battle back from deficits of 3-0, 7-4, 9-5 and 11-10. Six different Senators had multiple knocks in the opening game as part of a balanced effort, including three hits each for
Elyse Enriquez and
Honesty Holt.
D&E pushed across five runs in the bottom of the fifth in game one for a 10-9 lead. The Senators needed one run in the bottom of the seventh to tie, coming off a sacrifice fly from
Sharon Morales.
After Willis sent the Pioneers down in order in the eighth,
Kailynn Parks singled to lead off the home half before Suacedo ended the contest with her second homer of the afternoon.

The Senators pounced on the Pioneers early, plating three runs in each of their first two trips to the dish. Parks had three hits for the Senators, also scoring two runs.
Lavelle was plunked with the bases loaded as D&E walked in the opening run of game two. Later, Evans helped her own cause with a double to left center, scoring
Haley Grindstaff and
Honesty Holt for the 3-0 edge.
Saucedo delivered offensively again for D&E with a two-RBI double to the right center gap in the second, plating
