ELKINS, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins men's tennis closed out the doubles portion of the match with a win and Andrew Shand added a hard-fought victory in singles action, but it wasn't enough as the Senators fell, 6-1, to visiting Fairmont State in the 2021 opener at the Thomas Tennis Center. 

Vinicius Azeredo and Jacob Johnson closed out a 6-3 decision at No. 3 doubles, collecting the first colegiate victires for the duo. Meanwhile, Shand outlasted Joao Martins in an extended 7-6, 7-6 battle at No. 3 singles.
