Elkins, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins Senators Women's Basketball team lost by five points against Alderson Broaddus.
Trailing by as many as 15 with 4:50 to play in the fourth quarter, the Senators fought hard to get within striking distance. D&E made it a one possession game, 62-59, before ultimately falling 64-59. Alderson Broaddus commanded the lead for all but 3:01 of the game. The Battlers Ariyah Douglas is the only player to record a double double in Saturday's game.
Dream Cherry came into the matchup averaging 17.1 points per game, Cherry scored 18 for the Senators in the loss.
Abbie Bartenslager was the only other player for D&E in double figures with ten points. As a team, Davis & Elkins shot 36.1% from the field, 34.6% from three, and 60% from the free throw line.
The Senators are back in action on Friday when they travel to Youngstown State for an exhibition.
