Frostburg, Md. – Davis & Elkins Women's Basketball drop its regular season opener to Shepherd University in the Jim Crawley Conference Challenge held on the campus of Frostburg State University.

D&E fought hard in the first half and were shooting very well. They shot 52.4% in the first half from the field and 55.6% from three. This was significantly better than Shepherd's 40.5% from the field and 22.2% from beyond the arch. Unfortunately, the Senators couldn't make the comeback in the second half.
They look to bounce back and get even in the win-loss column today to wrap up their weekend in Frostburg in a matchup with Pitt-Johnstown.
