  • After reaching on an error, Kelsie Millner stole second and third on a failed pickoff and eventually scoring as a wild pitch as the Senators cashed in on miscues from Fayetteville State. The Broncos got on the board after an error from the Senators, making the score 4-1.
  • Holt continued her solid start to the season with a run-scoring single to short, expanding the lead to 5-1. Rhetta Persinger plated two more runs with a single to left, scoring Olivia Smith and Holt for a 7-1 edge.

  • Records: Davis & Elkins (5-3) | Fayetteville State (5-3)
  • Lamon Street Park - Fayetteville, N.C.

KEY SEQUENCE
One swing of the bat from Olivia Smith changed the complexion of Sunday's nightcap as the freshman belted a grand slam to hand the Senators a comfortable 5-0 lead in the first inning. The early lead gave D&E momentum, which it used in a 13-0 run-rule win against the Broncos.

  • The Senators tacked on two more runs in the second following a run-scoring single from Persinger and a sacrifice fly for Smith, her fifth RBI of the day.
  • Holt plated Malloy with a single in the fifth for an 8-0 edge and three more runs came across after another FSU error later in the frame. Malloy smacked a ground-rule double, allowing Millner to score as D&E surged ahead 12-0. The final run of the day came on a wild pitch in the fifth.
