ELKINS, W.Va - Senators play strong first period but are outscored in the second half, falling to Lake Erie this evening on Nuttall Field.
Angelina Horan's five goals were not enough to help D&E get the home conference win.
The first 15 minutes of the game were truly a battle. D&E conceded an early goal but responded quickly scoring three in a row with
Angelina Horan, twice, and Ryan Sumner. The visitors, fighting back, tied the game 3-3 on a player advantage.
Horan and Sumner put the Senators ahead on the scoreboard, once again, with three more goals. However, the Storms kept scoring to make it 6-6 before the halftime break.
Both teams were switching the lead in the beginning of the second period. After D&E got ahead 8-7, the Storms picked up a twelve points run, the largest in the game, to stretch the advantage and end the game at 8-19.
It was not a lack of effort from the Senators, the Storms' keeper made crucial saves that made Davis & Elkins fall behind.
Ebela De La Bay Coffie was in goal for D&E during the whole game and made a total of 14 saves in today's contest.
The Senators will return to action on Sunday for another home game against Ursuline College. The G-MAC contest is set for 1:00 PM.
