ELKINS, W.Va - Senators rally for great comeback and stun Alderson Broaddus in overtime tonight on Nuttall Field.
The first quarter of the game was marked by nice goals and important saves on both sides. Though the visitors started off better scoring three goals in a row, D&E responded with two goals.
The second period didn't have as many goals. Jordan Waddell scored the only goal of the quarter to keep D&E alive before halftime.
Right on the first minute after the break, Matt O'Dwyer scored the tying goal 4-4. However, the Battlers seemed to have picked up their game, scoring five goals in the quarter. D&E scored its fifth goal with Nolan Morrison, assisted by Durec.
Alderson Broaddus took a 9-5 lead to start the fourth quarter, but the Senators rallied to force overtime.
The Battlers scored their tenth goal but D&E picked up a five points run, tying the game at 10-10 and taking it to overtime.
After winning the draw control, D&E found its way into the net with Matt Dyck, who fired an unstoppable shot to get the 11-10 win.
Kyle Seago was in goal for D&E the entire game and made 16 crucial saves to help the Senators stay in the game and get their second win of the year.
The Senators will get back on the road on April 20th against Seton Hill for a GMAC showdown. The game is set for 12:00 PM.
